Pennsylvania's 2010-2011 state budget has passed and it will have a devastating impact on Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. CLP now faces a reduction in funding of more than $600,000, including funding for the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. With last year's cuts of 30%, CLP faces a cumulative annual loss of more than $2 million to its 2011 budget.
These cuts are particularly devastating at a time when people are using libraries more than ever and relying on libraries for critical services such as applying for jobs and finding health care and social services referrals. What can you do today? |
