First 20 days of summer

This summer has been all about the science, so far we enjoyed the following activities:
  • Swimming @ Highland Park
  • Registering for Summer Read @ CLPGH
  • Going to the movies @ Southside Works - Planet 51
  • Lunch at Applebee's... thanks to CLPGH Summer Read
  • Getting lost in the Frick Park trails, after catching a crayfish and salamander.
  • Talent Show... watch the group acts via youtube @rblctv
  • Read Tutoring for some...
  • Frick Park - (Blue Slide and obstacle course)
  • The Pittsburgh Zoo...
  • Visiting the new neighborhood park... Thanks to all the volunteers that came out, PNC Bank. KaBoom and Rosedale Block Cluster.
  • Our garden is blooming so nicely... so far we have picked cucumbers, banana peppers, and corn; planted greens, green peppers. watermelon, parsley, cabbage, and carrots.
  • We caught a frog in Frick Park one a day...he now has a home on our porch
  • We caught a snake in the garden... and the kids let is go!
  • Summer kick off at Westinghouse park .... relay races and yoga!
  • We got an iPad for the students and staff... the kids love playing chess, checkers, and tic-tac toe.
I am looking forward to the rest of the summer...
  • if you are traveling we still need you - We have been to Central & South America yet... We will even get you a webcam.
  • If you have a hot car or belong to a car/motorcycle club please come and support our second annual car show for kids.
  • We are still trying to tour a lab or office.... any type of science lab environment will do!
