i write on the iPad

We are back to our classroom routine, and the preschooler NOW have access to an iPad. Ms. Shimira introduced the iPad to the students last week during morning meeting (Circle time). They were all excited by the chance to use it and talked about similar devices their family members had at home.

This week Ms. Shimira spent 15 -20 minutes with each child daily working on the iPad to write their name, helping with letter recognition or allowing them to draw during child-directed time of the day using the iDraft app for all.

I was so excited because it lead to sparking their interest to write, now everyone wants to write or draw and they don't care what materials they use. Today's time lead to a 30 minute writing party during free play.
